PODCAST
Over the last 25+ years, I have dedicated my life and career to combating gang violence and reducing the gang threat.
I served as the Founder and Commander of the Orange County Corrections Department's CAGE Unit; Vice President and President of the Florida Gang Investigators Association; Secretary and President of the National Alliance of Gang Investigators' Associations; Chairman of the Criminal Street Gang Intelligence Committee for the Florida Intelligence Unit; Founding Board Member and Sergeant at Arms for the International Latino Gang Investigators Association as well as being assigned to numerous local, state and federal task forces in many capacities to include developing Florida's first Gang Reduction Strategy and working with our Federal partners in assisting Central America with combating their gang threat. During this time, collectively, I was honored to have commanded, represented, and/or worked with more than 20,000 gang enforcement professionals around the world. This honor gave me the rare opportunity to see first hand both the challenges and the deficiencies our officers face every day to effectively protect the public from this threat. |
Additionally, I know what it's like to be up against elected officials and appointed agency heads who are so far removed from the reality of gang violence that denial has blinded their decision making process and their failure to respond has decreased the communities quality of life and increased the threat to both public and officer safety.
